REGISTER YOUR DRONE IN CHINA

China Drone Regulations

Since January 1st, 2024, all drones must undergo real-name registration. Failure to do so might result in fines ranging from 10,000 CNY ($1,300) to 100,000 CNY ($13,000).

All drones, regardless of weight, must be registered under real names. Light drones (Mavic, Air, and Mini series included) are restricted to a maximum altitude of 120 meters.

Registering your drone is difficult since the Civil Aviation App is available only in Chinese, and you also need a Chinese phone number (you can use this service to get one if you don’t have a Chinese SIM card yet). To help you fly legally in China, I partnered with a Chinese company that provides drone registration services and ensures compliance with local aviation authorities.

How It Works

Submit Your Details: Fill out an easy-to-use online form with basic information about yourself and your drone model.

Let Us Handle The Rest: Once received, the team will process your application and submit it to the CAAC.

Receive Confirmation: After successful processing, you’ll receive confirmation and a QR code linking directly to the CAAC website.

How long does it take?

The process is divided into two steps: 1) creating your account on the CAAC database and 2) adding the info regarding your drone to your account. It might take up to 5 business days or even longer if there is any issue. So, the sooner you begin the registration, the better. If you need an emergency registration, which will take 30 minutes instead of 5 days, please add it to the notes in the form (there is an extra fee for the emergency registration).
